Tips for a strong self-introduction
  • 1
Greet first — "Good morning Sir/Madam" before you begin. It shows confidence and respect.
  • 2
Speak slowly and clearly. Do not rush. It is better to speak simple English confidently than to use difficult words incorrectly.
  • 3
Mention your Asha Jyothi certificate specifically — it is recognised by the Intermediate Board of Telangana and carries weight with employers.
  • 4
Say one strength and one thing you are eager to learn. Employers like candidates who are honest and motivated.
  • 5
End with "Thank you" and a smile. A polite close is always remembered.
  • 6
Practise in front of a mirror at least 5 times before your interview day. Confidence comes from preparation.

Workplace English Phrases

These are the phrases you will need every day at work. Read each one, say it out loud, and memorise the ones most relevant to your job.

How to answer salary questions

Salary questions are one of the hardest parts of an interview. Here is how to handle them confidently.

If asked: "What salary do you expect?"
Do your research first. Check the salary range in your field. Then say:

"Sir/Madam, I am a fresher and I am willing to start at an amount that is fair for my role. I am focused on learning and growing. I am open to discussing whatever is standard for this position."
If the salary offered is lower than expected
Be polite but direct:

"Thank you for the offer. I was expecting something closer to ₹[amount] based on the market for this role. Is there any flexibility? I am very interested in joining your team."
Always confirm before joining
Before accepting any job offer, confirm in writing: gross salary, any deductions (PF, ESI), working hours, leave entitlement, and job location. If it is not in writing, ask politely:

"Could you please share the offer letter so I can confirm the details?"
Typical fresher salary ranges
Tailoring: ₹8,000–12,000
Beautician: ₹7,000–11,000
Computer: ₹8,000–14,000
Electrical: ₹8,000–13,000
Nursing: ₹10,000–14,000
Lab/Pharmacy: ₹9,000–16,000

Documents to carry to the interview
📝 Questions to ask yourself before accepting a job
What exactly is the salary, and what will be deducted?
Confirm gross salary, and ask if PF and ESI will be deducted. These are not deductions to fear — they protect you. But know the exact take-home amount before you agree.
Where exactly will I be working?
Confirm the work location (address), not just the area. Check how long it takes to travel and whether transport is provided.
What are the working hours and weekly off?
Ask clearly: "What time does work start and finish? How many days a week? Which day is my weekly off?"
Will I receive a written offer letter?
Any genuine employer will provide an offer letter. If they refuse or say "we don't do that here," treat it as a warning sign. Do not resign from another job or move to a new city without a written offer.
Is there a probation period and what are the conditions?
Many jobs have a 3–6 month probation. During this time, your employment can end with shorter notice. Ask what the conditions are and whether salary is lower during probation.

Role Play Practice

Read each situation carefully and think about what you would say. Then reveal the professional response to compare. Practise saying the responses out loud — the more natural they feel, the more confident you will be at work.
